The role of an usher is to help first-time guests, repeat visitors, and parishioners experience the sacredness and joy of celebrating the Sacrifice of the Mass. Ushers are men, women and youth who volunteer their time at Mass to greet parishioners, assist in the seating, take up weekly collections, distribute the bulletins after Mass, tidy up the church after Mass, and assist the Pastor/Priest when needed. Punctuality is key to the Ushers’ ministry so they may welcome parishioners and visitors as they arrive for worship. With cheerful hearts they put a smile on the faces of those arriving for worship help them to feel comfortable and welcomed. The first parishioner to interact with a visitor who is just arriving is the Usher and, as we know, first impressions matter. Ushers are needed to assist prior to, during and after Sunday Masses and Holy Days. All volunteers must compete Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements.
Please contact the parish office if you are interested in joining this important ministry! More help is always welcome!
